Presentation of the Gbm Foundation by Mrs Bibiana Taku

 

The Gbm Foundation will each year seek to implement its strategic plan as adopted by the Board of Trustees. To this effect, the following projects were agreed upon for implementation and realization for this 2015 include:

  1. Launch of the Gbm Centre for Epilepsy and Mental Wellbeing in Cameroon;
  2. Launch of a book on the life of Gabriel Bebonbechem as an outreach and advocacy material in the fight against stigma and abuse of epileptics and mentally ill;
  3. Commissioning of a baseline study of epileptics in the target programme zones;
  4. Construction of a multi purpose research centre for the Gbm Foundation in Fontem Lebialem;
  5. Conception of a Teacher’s handbook on Epilepsy as an outreach and advocacy material for the school millieu;
  6. Various media outreach campaigns through radio and TV broadcast, as well as online on social media platforms;
  7. Launching and implementation of the ‘Inclusive Education for young epileptics’ project in the Lebialem Division, by co-ordinating and supporting proper diagnosis and sensitization;
  8.  Solidarity Walk on the 31st of October 2015 dubed: Let’s Bring Epilepsy out of the Shadows;
  9.  Mission to the Fontem project area for another medical evaluation trip, for further diagnosis and support of treatment and rehabilitation of persons living with epilepsy.
